Lady Devils sweep Franklin, gearing up for region gauntlet

Region play is here for the Elbert County girls’ basketball team, and with it comes some tough tests that have big-time ramifications for the Lady Devils’ season. The Lady Devils traveled to Commerce on Tuesday to take on the Lady Tigers and came up short 45-38.

Mat Devils moving on to State Duals

The Elbert County wrestling team is moving on to the Class A State Championship Duals this weekend after finishing second place at the Area 8A Duals, which they hosted at The Inferno Jan. 10.

Elbert County hosts 2026 Twilight Stroll

The Elbert County Chamber of Commerce's annual Twilight Stroll by the Granite Bowl 5K was held Jan. 9, sporting the largest turnout for the event since the COVID pandemic.

Blue Devils come up just short in New Year’s Eve game

The Elbert County boys’ basketball team spent part of its New Years Eve on the court, traveling to McDonough to play Southwest Atlanta Christian Dec. 31 as part of the inaugural Warhawk New Year’s Eve invitational.

Mat Devils finish second at Mountain View Duals

The Elbert County wrestling team just turned in one of its best performances of the year ahead of one of the most important weekends of the season. The Blue Devils competed in the Mountain View Preregion Duals on Jan. 3. They went 4-1 and finished in second place.

Lady Devils get change of scenery in Tampa

The Elbert County girls’ basketball team spent part of its holiday break in the Sunshine State, driving down to Tampa, Fla. for the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational Dec. 27 through Dec. 30.

Lady Devils travel to Tampa

The Elbert County girls’ basketball team piled in together and hit the road in the early hours of Dec. 26, headed to Tampa to play in the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational tournament a day later. The Lady Devils were matched up with the Heritage Panthers, a high school in Palm Bay, Fla.

Blue Devils dominate Lincoln, prepare for NYE game

The Elbert County boys’ basketball team is preparing to ring in the new year on the hardwood. Elbert will play Southwest Atlanta Christian at McDonough High School on Dec. 31 at 11:30 a.m. as part of the inaugural Warhawk New Year’s Eve Invitational.

Lady Devils basketball moves to 8-1 on season

The Elbert County girls’ basketball team went 2-1 in its three games last week, putting their record at 8-1 as region play ramps up. The Lady Devils opened the week on Tuesday night with a home matchup against Rabun County, who came into the game with a six game winning streak.

Hoop Devils suffer losing skid ahead of holiday break

The Elbert County boys’ basketball team saw its record fall to 4-6 after a four-game losing streak. The Blue Devils are now 1-2 in region play, which currently slots them at fifth place in Region 8-A Division I. Elbert hosted Rabun County last Tuesday, Dec. 16.
