Lady Devils hit home runs in back-to-back losses

Elbert County junior Miller Drake hit a three-run home run in a Aug. 15 game against Franklin County and Lady Devil freshman Ky Dubose hit a solo home run Aug. 17 against Hart County as the Lady Devil softball team fell in back-to-back games to bring their season record to 4-3 on the year.

Volley Devils prepping for region slate

The Elbert County Lady Devils volleyball team is in the middle of a three-day stretch of six matches as they prepare for their area schedule to kick off. The Lady Devils started the stretch on the road in Banks County Aug. 22 with matches against the Lady Leopards and Stephens County.

ECMS athletes start fall sports season

The Elbert County Middle School Lady Rams softball team got back into the win column over the weekend as they split a doubleheader on the road against Washington-Wilkes Aug. 19. The Lady Rams dominated the second game of the doubleheader by winning 11-1 after falling in the first game 4-3.

Volley Devils looking to improve upon record-setting year

The Elbert County Lady Devils volleyball team is set to kick off their fourth season after a record-setting year in area wins, total wins and set wins in the team’s short history. Elbert finished 8-23 last season and ended up falling just one win short of a state playoff appearance.
