Elbert boys’ basketball begins region play with win over Storm

The Elbert County boys’ basketball team started its region schedule in the win column with an 84-75 win at home against Providence Christian Academy on Friday night. Four Blue Devils scored in double figures in a big offensive performance where the Blue Devils rode a late surge to victory.

Hoop Devils rebound with three straight wins at home

The Elbert County boys’ basketball team bounced back from a 0-2 start to win their past three games and bring their record to 3-2 to begin the season. The Blue Devils earned their first win of the season over Social Circle last Tuesday with a 70-60 victory.

Blue Devils wrestling hoping to pin down state championship

Shane Anderson holds his Elbert County wrestlers to a high standard. The Blue Devils’ head wrestling coach, entering his 16th year in the role, believes the group has the chance to do something special. And he wants them to believe it, too.

‘No easy games’ for Lady Devils basketball in new year

Elbert County girls’ basketball took its region by surprise last year, but things are different this time around. The Lady Devils went on a tear to start 2024, racing out to a 16-0 start before finishing 24-5 and making it to the second round of the state tournament.

Blue Devils take down Oglethorpe in first round of GHSA State Playoffs

The Elbert County Blue Devils are moving on. Elbert defeated Oglethorpe 24-7 Friday night in the Granite Bowl in the first round of the GHSA state playoffs. The Blue Devils dominated on the ground and dictated the pace of the game all night, rushing for 269 yards as a team.
