Coach Clinkscales: ‘Be proud of Elbert County’

When long-time Elbert County Coach James Clinkscales was recognized in between quarters of the Devils’ Sept. 29 homecoming football game, it was one of the three greatest moments of his life.

Homecoming shines in the Granite Bowl

A pair of back-to-back early explosive plays from the Blue Devil defense helped Elbert take a whopping 36-7 homecoming victory over Mount Vernon High School’s Mustangs on an unusual Thursday night in the Granite Bowl.

Lady Devils to play for region title Thursday

  The Elbert County Lady Devils softball team improved their region record to 6-0 as they downed Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy Sept. 27 in Barrow. Elbert won the game 14-2 and has one more region game against Commerce High School Oct.

ECMS wraps fall sports seasons

The Elbert County Middle School (ECMS) Rams and Lady Rams concluded their seasons with a total of four runners who were awarded medals for placing in the Top 20 of the Northeast Georgia Independent Athletic Association Region Championships hosted by ECMS Sept. 27.

The Lady Devils are in sole control of first place for Region 8 of Class A Division 1 after the Elbert County softball team defeated region opponent Commerce High School Sept. 20 at Wesley King Field.

Devils dominate Warriors, move to 5-0

The Elbert County Blue Devils improved their season record to 5-0 after being tested in the first half, but ultimately defeating the Jefferson County High School Warriors 21-3 in a closely contested, penalty-ridden affair.
