The Elbert County Lady Devils basketball team’s fight for a back-to-back state championship  came to an end in the Final Four of the GHSA State Tournament with a 70-57 loss to Galloway March 3. “I knew we were going to come in and give them everything that we could. I feel like we did that.

Devils, Lady Devils golf sweep Banks in first road game

The Elbert County Blue Devils and Lady Devils golf teams swept Banks County Feb 28 at Chimney Oaks Golf Club in their first away game of the new season.

Homeward bound for Elite Eight round

The Elbert County Lady Devils basketball team was set to host the Elite Eight round of the GHSA state playoffs Tuesday against Swainsboro’s Lady Tigers after a grueling 77-71 overtime win in the Sweet Sixteen round over Mt. Pisgah in the Inferno Feb. 24.

Golfers begin season with growth in numbers, ability

Elbert County’s Blue Devils and Lady Devils golf teams kicked off their 2023 season by beating both Rabun County and Franklin County at Arrowhead Pointe Golf Course Feb. 21.

Improving soccer Devils take over second place in region

The Elbert County Blue Devils and Lady Devils soccer teams are in second place in Region 8A Division 1 as both teams are 2-1 in region play, continuing to improve on last year’s success.

Diamond Devils ranked No. 6 in state following tournament

The Elbert County Diamond Devils are the No. 6 ranked team in Class A Division, 1 according to Coaches Box Georgia’s Feb. 26 poll after winning two of their three games in the Georgia Dugout Club tournament hosted by LakePoint Sports Feb. 24 and Feb. 25.

Devils finish basketball season in first round

The Elbert County Blue Devils basketball team wrapped up their 3-26 season with a 75-51 loss  to Darlington in the first round of the GHSA State Playoffs on the road Feb. 22. With the exception of a 28-9 second quarter in Darlington’s favor, Elbert played well against the No.

Claiming the region crown

Elbert County’s Lady Devils basketball team have won their second region championship in three seasons after defeating Rabun County Feb. 17 at Piedmont University.

State finishes

Juniors Carter Fleming and Isiah Davis are both state placers after finishing fourth and fifth in the state during the GHSA Traditional Wrestling State Championships in Macon Feb. 16 and 17. Fleming finished in fourth at 132 pounds while Davis finished in fifth at 138 pounds.
