Devils push for region win over Rabun

The Elbert County Blue Devils soccer team moved back into second place in the region after an intense 4-3 overtime victory over region opponent Rabun County that came off the back of a Chapo Serna brace in the Granite Bowl March 14.

Track teams host first home meet

Elbert County’s boys and girls track teams hosted their first ever home meet March 9 as they competed against Stephens County and Hart County in a tri-meet. The meet was the second of the season for Elbert after they opened the season with the Eagle Invitational hosted by East Jackson March 4.

Net Devils go 2-3 in region play

The Elbert County Tennis teams fell to Rabun County at home March 16 to move to 2-3 in Region 8A Division 1. “This is the first match where we lost a match that I felt like we could’ve had some more wins,” Head Coach Corey Hopson said.

ECPR 8U girls All Stars end as runners-up

The Elbert County Parks and Recreation 8 and Under Girls All Stars finished the Georgia Recreation Parks Association District 7 Class C Tournament as the region runners-up Feb. 25 in Rabun County.

Diamond Devils defeat Tallulah

The Elbert County Diamond Devils started off their 2023 region schedule with a 7-6 walk-off win over Tallulah Falls March 9 at Diamond Devil Field. With the game tied at 6-6 in the bottom of the seventh and final inning, Nate Webb reached on a single and advanced to third base.

Rifle team ends state run in sectionals

The Elbert County Comprehensive High School rifle team’s season came to a close in the State Sectionals after a 1150-1055 loss on the road to Columbus High School March 7. Elbert finished the regular season with an 8-3 record which allowed them to advance to sectionals as the No. 4 team in Area 4.

Devils, Lady Devils fall to Tallulah Falls in region matches

After a tough night in the Granite Bowl that saw both Elbert County soccer teams fall to region opponent Tallulah Falls 8-1 March 9, the Blue Devils and Lady Devils are looking to keep learning and improving as they close out their region schedule.

Devil, Lady Devil golfers travel to tournaments

The Elbert County Blue Devils and Lady Devils golf teams traveled to two different tournaments March 4 as the Devils returned to Chimney Oaks Golf Club  to compete in the Valhalla Cup while the girls traveled to Jekyll Island to compete in the Red Ryder Cup held at Indian Mound Course.

Tennis teams are 1-2 in region

Elbert County’s Blue Devils and Lady Devils tennis teams fell in their second meeting with Tallulah Falls March 9 to even their overall region record up at 1-2 on the year.
