Community Kickoff in the Granite Bowl set for Friday

Elbert County’s football team, cheerleaders and band are hosting the annual Friday Night Lights Community Kickoff event in the Granite Bowl Aug. 9 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Fall Sports season cranks up Thursday

Fall sports are set to officially kick off in Elbert County tomorrow as the Elbert County Lady Devils softball team is slated to begin their season with a trio of road games. The Lady Devils are scheduled to start the year with road game against North Oconee’s Lady Titans Aug. 1.

Twirling all the way to Italy

Former Elbert County  majorette and feature twirler Lyndsie Acker is set to take her talents on the world-stage as she qualified to compete in the International Baton Twirling Federation’s World Baton Twirling Championships being held in Torino, Italy in August of 2025.

The Blue Devils competed in several 7-on-7 tournaments, traveled to Head Coach Shannon Jarvis’ previous school, Mill Creek High School, for the Elite Line Camp and finished their summer slate with the FCA Team Camp hosted by Reinhardt University. Elbert teams wrap up summer games

The Elbert County Blue Devils football team is gearing up for the new season as they are scheduled to conclude their summer workouts this week and begin acclimating for fall camp next week.
The 8-10-year-old All-Star Team includes Owen Albertson, Harris Amabile, Elijah Aston, Lucas Aston, Brodie Bagwell, Maddox Bellew, Haynes Bone, Beckett Dixon, Linkin Johnson, Remi Mills, Rhett Oakley, Job Wilder and coaches Matt Amabile, Kyle Bagwell and Justin Bellew.

ECLL competing in state tournaments

Elbert County Little League  (ECLL) has a pair of teams who qualified for their respective Little League State Tournaments after winning the District 7 Championship.

8-10-year-old Softball All-Stars finish as runners-up

The Elbert County 8-10-year-old Softball All-Star team finished as runners-up in the Georgia Little League District 7 Tournament after falling in the championship game to Hart County June 28.

Wrestling team to host youth camp

The Elbert County Mat Devils are hosting their annual Youth Wrestling Camp July 22 through July 24 in the Falling Creek gym. The camp is scheduled to be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. July 22 and July 23 and it is scheduled to be held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. July 24.
