Lady Devils split season series with Hart

After picking up a win in their first game against Hart County on the road Aug. 6, the Lady Devils fell in the rematch at Wesley King Field Aug. 19.  The loss to Hart drops the Lady Devils to 2-5 on the season as they navigate their tough early season schedule.

Cross Country starts off season in Athens

The Elbert County Blue Devils and Lady Devils Cross Country teams started off their season with strong showing in the Northeast Georgia Cross Country Championships hosted by Athens Christian Aug. 17.

Lady Devils look to build on foundation with new coach

The back-to-back Region 8A Division 1 champions are looking to make it a three-peat as the Elbert County Lady Devils softball team heads into the 2024 season.

Cross Country teams run into new season

After finishing as the No. 6 public school in the Class A Division 1 last season, the Elbert County Cross Country team is looking to take advantage of the public-private split to have an even higher finish under second-year Head Coach Kyle Ashworth.

Volley Devils growing in ability and support

Elbert County’s Volley Devils kicked off their 2024 season last week and are looking to build on teamwork, effort and attitude as they look to the future of their program.  “Teamwork, effort and attitude are goals we have for our team,” Head Coach Anya Human said Aug. 12.

Devils ready to deal with the noise

After a successful 2023 season that saw the Elbert County Blue Devils football team advance to the quarterfinals of the GHSA State Playoffs for the first time since 2015, the 2024 squad is ready to deal with the high expectations that come along with having a successful program.

Cheerleaders bring both new and old to Granite Bowl

With a new football season rapidly approaching in Elbert County, the Elbert County Blue Devil cheerleaders have been hard at work since early June, perfecting their new cheer routine and making sure Blue Devil fans bring maximum energy to football both games at home and on the road.

Fly me to the Moon

Elbert County’s Blue Devil Band is gearing up for blast off during the upcoming season as their upcoming halftime show is centered around the Earth’s lunar companion.  “All of the songs have something to do with the moon,” Band Director Ansley McNeese said.

Devils top Tigers in scrimmage

The Elbert County Blue Devils kicked off the 2024 football season with a dominant showing in a preseason scrimmage against Washington-Wilkes Aug. 2.  The Devils started the game on defense and after forcing a quick three-and-out, the Devil offense took over on their own 35-yard line.

Lady Devils to host Prince for home opener

The Elbert County Lady Devils softball team is scheduled to see Prince Avenue Christian School at Wesley King Field Aug. 8. for their first home game of the season.
