Lady Devils get change of scenery in Tampa

The Elbert County girls’ basketball team piled in together and hit the road in the early hours of Dec. 26, headed to Tampa to play in the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational tournament a day later. The Lady Devils were matched up with the Heritage Panthers, a high school in Palm Bay, Fla.

Blue Devils dominate Lincoln, prepare for NYE game

The Elbert County boys’ basketball team is preparing to ring in the new year on the hardwood. Elbert will play Southwest Atlanta Christian at McDonough High School on Dec. 31 at 11:30 a.m. as part of the inaugural Warhawk New Year’s Eve Invitational.

Lady Devils basketball moves to 8-1 on season

The Elbert County girls’ basketball team went 2-1 in its three games last week, putting their record at 8-1 as region play ramps up. The Lady Devils opened the week on Tuesday night with a home matchup against Rabun County, who came into the game with a six game winning streak.

Hoop Devils suffer losing skid ahead of holiday break

The Elbert County boys’ basketball team saw its record fall to 4-6 after a four-game losing streak. The Blue Devils are now 1-2 in region play, which currently slots them at fifth place in Region 8-A Division I. Elbert hosted Rabun County last Tuesday, Dec. 16.

Mat Devils go 5-0 in duals at Winder-Barrow

The Elbert County wrestling team went 5-0 in its dual matches Saturday to win the Winder-Barrow dual tournament this weekend. The Mat Devils are now 9-0 as a team in dual matches this season.

Mat Devils take down first four dual opponents

The Elbert County wrestling team has won its first four dual matches to start the 2025-2026 campaign, along with some encouraging results in its early-season tournaments. The Mat Devils hosted Johnson and Cedar Shoals on Dec. 10 for a dual meet and got the win in both.

Elbert boys’ basketball begins region play with win over Storm

The Elbert County boys’ basketball team started its region schedule in the win column with an 84-75 win at home against Providence Christian Academy on Friday night. Four Blue Devils scored in double figures in a big offensive performance where the Blue Devils rode a late surge to victory.

Swarming defense propels Lady Devils to hot start

The Elbert County girls’ basketball team is off to a 7-0 start to begin the 2025-26 season. In their most recent game Tuesday night, Elbert got a big region win over Rabun County, who entered the game with a 6-1 record.
