The Elbert County boys’ basketball team spent part of its New Years Eve on the court, traveling to McDonough to play Southwest Atlanta Christian Dec. 31 as part of the inaugural Warhawk New Year’s Eve invitational.

The Elbert County wrestling team just turned in one of its best performances of the year ahead of one of the most important weekends of the season. The Blue Devils competed in the Mountain View Preregion Duals on Jan. 3. They went 4-1 and finished in second place.

Annual Twilight Stroll by the Granite Bowl set for Friday night

The Elbert County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the annual Twilight Stroll by the Granite Bowl Friday night at 7 p.m. The event is a 5K run/walk held at night where participants run through downtown Elberton and make a lap through the historic Granite Bowl during their race.
