Early voting for Senate runoff ends Friday

Early voting for the statewide Senate runoff between Democrat Incumbent Raphael Warnock and Republic challenger Herschel Walker saw a local record-breaking turnout Monday as 648 voters went to the polls, Elections Supervisor Melissa Shead said. Early voting will continue through Friday, Dec.

SAR to host 13th commemoration of Battle of Vann’s Creek

The Samuel Elbert Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) will host the 13th commemoration of the Battle of Vann’s Creek Saturday, Dec. 3 at Richard B. Russell State Park. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the Walter McNeely Pavilion at the park.
Main Street Elberton’s Candlelight Shop Night drew large crowds on the downtown square Tuesday, Nov. 22, including a visit from Santa Claus. Local merchants and small businesses opened their doors and booths, the County-Line Jazz Band performed with lighted instruments and the lighting of the city’s Christmas tree was officially held.
