The Samuel Elbert Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution held its 13th annual commemoration of the Battle of Vann’s Creek Saturday, Dec. 3 at Richard B. Russell State Park. A program on the battle, which took place Feb. 11, 1779 was presented by local Historian Ray Chandler while a Mourn Musket ceremony was done by the Georgia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard.
