Hats off: Elbert County Comprehensive High School holds 2026 graduation

Elbert County Comprehensive High School's annual graduation ceremony was held last week, meaning new winners of the Principal's Cup and Faculty Cup were announced. D.K. Winn was named as the winner of the Faculty Cup while D.J. Fortson was the winner of the Principal's Cup.

Elbert County's Ngyuen and Childers make waves with art

The far-side wall of the Elbert County Comprehensive High School media center is currently home to a sprawling art exhibition featuring a multitude of clashing styles.
The ECCHS JROTC team brought two more state championships home from this year's state meet in Griffin. The drill team includes Naomi Bernal, Isabel Cruz, Yamileth Carreon, Daniella Govea, Colton Mabry, Nyasia Teasley, Micheal Bowman, Jacob Brown, Daniel Nguyen, Nalleli Rodriguez, Ariel Moncallo, Attorian Small, Tommy Moon, Seeley Stelter, Alex Scott, Samuel Gohn, Marley Geyer, Riley Masters and Jordan Poulsen. Elbert County schools out Friday for championship

Elbert County School District announced Monday that school will not be in session to give students, teachers and parents the opportunity to attend the GHSA Class A Division 1 State Championship game, which pits Elbert County's Lady Devils against the East Laurens Lady Falcons.

Layne named Miss ECCHS

Elbert County Comprehensive High School senior Lila Layne was named Miss ECCHS 2026. The Miss ECCHS Pageant was held Feb. 7 and featured a host of winners in addition to Miss ECCHS. The first runner-up was I'jianah Whiten and second runner-up was Carlee Brown.

Student causes scare with water gun on bus

Elbert County School District was the victim of a scare Oct. 1 when a student brought a water gun onto his bus and was caught by the bus driver, prompting a press release from the district. "This morning, a young student made a poor decision and brought a plastic toy gun onto the school bus.
