‘Big mistakes’ and poor execution caused Elbert County’s first loss to rival Hart County in five years (19-7, 2014) Friday night in Hartwell. Hart’s senior-laden Bulldogs took advantage of early Blue Devil miscues to produce the most lopsided game (39-7) since the Brent Miller era.

Blue Devil fans can get their first peek at the 2019 team Friday night under the light in Gainesville as Elbert County scrimmages East Hall. It's been seven years since the Devils met the Vikings on the gridiron. In fact, Elbert played East Hall twice in 2011.

The Elbert County Lady Blue Devils fast pitch softball team won its season opener and went on a five-game road trip in Week 1. Elbert defeated visiting Washington-Wilkes 10-8 Aug. 6 using its newly reconstructed dugout on King Field.
