Blue Devils mash Monticello

With a 35-18 win at Monticello Oct. 25, Elbert County got back on the winning track and improved to 4-4 on the season overall.

Blue Devils fall to Wildcats

Elbert County lost its second region game on the season in a physically bruising battle against Rabun County Oct. 18 in the Granite Bowl. Living up to their No. 5 state ranking, the Wildcats downed the Blue Devil hosts 52-14.

Mixed team wins Area, Males take second

The standing results are unofficial, but it appears the Elbert County JROTC Mixed and Male teams did just enough to win the Area 8 championship and finish as runners-up respectively during Elbert County’s Raider meet Oct. 12.

Elbert to host No. 5 state-ranked Rabun

The Elbert County Blue Devils will certainly have their hands full when reigning region champion Rabun County comes knocking on the Granite Bowl door Friday night.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. —  It was a simple pass play in the flat from Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to rookie wide receiver Mecole Hardman, who sped for a first down during Sunday’s National Football League clash at Arrowhead Stadium.

Trio of turnovers doom the Devils

Elbert County entered the Region 8-AA matchup at Union County bent on avenging last season’s 29-28 lost, however, three straight fourth-quarter scores on turnovers doomed Elbert County’s chances of sealing its second region win of the season Friday night in Blairsville.

The Lady Diamond Devils wrapped up their season last week with a 8-0, 5-4 doubleheader loss to Monticello during the first round of the Region 8-AA tournament Sept. 25 at King Field in Elberton.
