Patriots to host rebounding Blue Devils

Smarting from last week’s 4-point loss to North Oconee (28-24), the Blue Devils will cross the Broad River and take on their western neighbors, the Oglethorpe County Patriots, in the Region 8-AA opener this Friday night.

Rams host, Blue Devils race in Tallulah Falls

Elbert’s middle school cross country teams hosted their first meet in school history Sept. 10 while the high school runners traversed the hills surrounding Tallulah Falls.

Titans top Devils in late night finish

After a two-and-a-half hour weather delay forced a late night battle between Top 10 state-ranked North Oconee and host Elbert County, the visiting Titans edged out the Blue Devils by four points (28-24) just before 1 a.m. on Friday the 13th.

Former head coach Sid Fritts returns to the Granite Bowl

If you thought you saw a familiar face peering out of the visitors’ box Friday night in the Granite Bowl, you weren’t seeing things. Former Elbert County head football coach Sid Fritts, who now coaches offensive line for Washington-Wilkes, worked the sky box for the visiting Tigers.
