ECCHS soccer nearing spring break reset

Elbert County’s two soccer teams each played two matches over the past week, first traveling to Banks County last Friday before hosting Athens Academy this Monday.The Blue Devils lost 5-3 at Banks County to fall to 2-4 in their region.

Diamond Devils sweep Oglethorpe County

The Elbert County baseball team picked up its second three-game series sweep of the season last week, winning a trio of games over Oglethorpe County. The Diamond Devils are now 15-6 overall including 10-2 in Region 8A Division I, and trail Banks County by one game for the region lead.

Elbert County’s Gracie Kidd signs to play college tennis

Elbert County tennis senior Gracie Kidd made her college plans official Thursday afternoon when she signed to play tennis at Emmanuel University prior to the team’s practice.Kidd was joined by family and teammates at the signing.

Elbert County golf teams each play pair of tournaments

It was a busy few days for the Elbert County golf teams. Over the weekend, the boys’ team traveled to Dalton for the Five Star Invitational Saturday while the girls competed at the West Georgia Lady Invitational in LaGrange from Friday to Saturday.

ECCHS tennis teams winding down regular season

The regular season is coming to an end for Elbert County tennis, with just two matches remaining until the region tournament starts in Winder on April 14.Last week, Elbert County hosted Banks County on Tuesday. The girls’ team claimed one game but ultimately lost the match 4-1.

Diamond Devils blast BASA

The Elbert County boys’ baseball team continued its hot hitting against the Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy, sweeping a three-game series held last Tuesday and Friday with each game being called early due to the mercy rule.
