‘That way’ to Vidalia and the Sweet Sixteen

The Lady Devils were on fire last Tuesday night. In the first round of the GHSA state playoffs, the host Lady Devils defeated the Washington High School Lady Bulldogs by a combined 31 runs in seven total innings to advance them to the Sweet Sixteen round.

Lady Devils finish as region runners-up

After forcing the region tournament back to Saturday and to single elimination-style, Elbert County Comprehensive High School’s Lady Devils had a hard-fought day full of softball Saturday, Oct. 9 at Banks County High School in Homer.

Pleased with intensity and effort

They are still working on technique, but after Friday night’s defeat of Lincoln County’s Red Devils in Lincolnton at Larry Campbell Stadium 28-16, Elbert County Head Coach Shannon Jarvis said he is greatly pleased with the intensity and effort of his football team ... and his coaching staff.

Devils’ intensity downs Commerce

The foe Friday night in the Historic Granite Bowl was officially Commerce, but Elbert County Head Coach Shannon Jarvis said his Blue Devils were actually playing against themselves. “We had to get better this week,” said Jarvis after his Blue Devils defeated Commerce 27-14 to go 1-1 on the season.

Lady Devils lead region after win against Rabun

It only took one inning for the Lady Devils to get warmed up against Rabun County during the first competition of region play Thursday, Sept. 9 at Wesley King Field.

It didn’t take the Elbert County Lady Devils long to find their groove during Monday night’s home opener 11-3 win against Prince Avenue Christian School, who is ranked No. 1 in their area in A Private.

Senior Thomas Vaughn made history Friday, May 14 after vaulting his way to a state championship in the GHSA State Championship meet at McEachern High School in Powder Springs.

Diamond Devils finish sweet season

The Elbert County Diamond Devils wrapped up a 27-9, region championship-winning, Sweet Sixteen season after falling 10-0 to the Lovett Lions in Thursday’s final series game in the GHSA state playoffs.
