Elbert County baseball wins 2026 region title

The Elbert County baseball team are region champions for the first time since 2023.The Diamond Devils swept Commerce last week in their final regular season series of the year to finish 13-2 in region play and 26-7 overall.

Encore Productions bring Cinderella story to life

Encore Productions and the Elbert Theatre are bringing Rogers and Hammerstein's classic, "Cinderella" to the stage for back-to-back weekends of magical performances. The stage performance of the classic fairy tale, which is directed by Sam and Bree Brown, is a "contemporary retelling" of the story.

Diamond Devils seize region lead after sweep of Banks County

The Elbert County baseball team is in control of its own destiny with state playoffs right around the corner.The Diamond Devils swept their third straight series this week, beating region contender Banks County over three games held on Tuesday and Friday.

Elbert County boys’ golf shoots best score of season at Arrowhead Invitational

The Elbert County boys’ golf team turned in its lowest score of the 2026 season Monday, shooting a 307 as a team to finish second at the fifth annual Granite City Classic.

Elbert County Middle School track shows out at region championship

The Elbert County middle school track teams performed well at the NEGIAA region track championships on March 24 in Madison County. The Rams girls’ team finished third and the boys finished fourth. The Rams are coached by Tyson Cade.

Elbert County tennis, slow pitch move into region tourney, playoffs

The regular season is winding down for spring sports in Elbert County. Several Blue Devil teams are at key points in their seasons this week.The Elbert County tennis teams are playing in the Region 8A Division I tournament held in Winder from Tuesday to Wednesday.

Spring Unity Festival scheduled for April 25

The third annual Spring Unity Festival hosted by members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.’s Iota Psi Omega chapter has been scheduled to be held April 25 from 11 am to 2 p.m. at the Historic Blackwell Gym.

Elbert County JROTC drill team adds two more state championships

Elbert County Comprehensive High school's JROTC program continued its recent dominance after the program added two more state championships to its growing collection.

Elbert County’s Zoe Evans signs to play flag football at Emmanuel University

The Elbert County Comprehensive High School flag football program may still be in its infancy, but it’s already produced one college athlete.
