Elbert County Comprehensive High School was one tree away from needing a new sign in front of the Inferno after a tractor trailer overturned Thursday and skidded to a halt in front of the building. At approximately 11:12 a.m.

Elberton's City Council announced the recipients of its Community Impact Grant program for nonprofit organizations in Elberton at its monthly meeting Dec. 1. The grant is intended to support local nonprofits so they may continue serving the Elberton community.

Shootings around Bowman Highway leave two dead

A pair of shootings took place over the weekend that left two dead and one injured. According to a press release by Elbert County Coroner Chuck Almond, Elbert County E911 received a call just before 4 p.m. on Nov. 29 reporting a male who had been shot near Martin Villa Drive and Pleasant Hill Road.
