Main Street Elberton hosts touch-a-truck

Main Street Elberton hosted its first Touch-a-Truck event April 23, where Elbert County residents got a chance to see a host of working vehicles up close and personal.

Bowman Spring Festival and Car Show brings crowd of smiles

The City of Bowman hosted its annual Spring festival and first ever car show in memory of longtime Bowman resident and car enthusiast, Terry Dalton, April 25 in Bowman City Park. The event saw a total of 51 vehicles, new and old, participate.

Early voting underway for Elbert County general primary

Early voting opened April 27 for the upcoming May 19 general primary that is slated to see a handful of contested elections in Elbert County. As of press time Tuesday, a total of 33 voters had already cast their vote in the primary.

Little crowned 2026 Miss ECMS

Elbert County Middle School (ECMS) eighth grader DaNyia Little was named Miss ECMS for 2026 at the annual Miss ECMS Pageant held in the auditorium April 18. Joining Little as winners were seventh grade representative Gracie Madrigal and sixth grade representative Rease McElroy.

The Elberton Star - WSGC Radio political forum set for April 30

The Elberton Star and WSGC Radio have announced that they will be hosting a political forum for the upcoming May 19 general primaries. The political forum is scheduled to be held April 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of the Elbert County Government Complex.
The ECCHS JROTC team brought two more state championships home from this year's state meet in Griffin. The drill team includes Naomi Bernal, Isabel Cruz, Yamileth Carreon, Daniella Govea, Colton Mabry, Nyasia Teasley, Micheal Bowman, Jacob Brown, Daniel Nguyen, Nalleli Rodriguez, Ariel Moncallo, Attorian Small, Tommy Moon, Seeley Stelter, Alex Scott, Samuel Gohn, Marley Geyer, Riley Masters and Jordan Poulsen. Elbert County JROTC drill team adds two more state championships

Elbert County Comprehensive High school's JROTC program continued its recent dominance after the program added two more state championships to its growing collection.
