The Elbert County Board of Education held two budget hearings in the past week to present its projected budget for the 2026-27 school year. One was at its work session last Tuesday and the other was at its monthly meeting Monday.

The Elbert County board of education was a bit more packed than usual Monday afternoon. The Elbert County Comprehensive High School wrestling team, its coaches and parents were in the building to be recognized by the board for their state runner-up 2025-26 season.
