Elbert County Betas to host food distributions

Elbert County's beta clubs are participating in food distributions to help those in need at Forest Hill Assembly of God throughout the rest of the year. The Betas kicked off the initiative Aug. 6 and assisted the church with various duties.

It’s officially back to school season in Elbert County.Elbert County Schools will open for the first day of school Friday, July 31 across all levels. Before the big day, each school is offering ways to prepare for the year.

ECCHS Beta Club wins national championship in on-site drawing

The Elbert County Comprehensive High School Beta Club brought home a national championship, three Top 5 finishes and two Top 10 finishes from the National Beta Convention, held in Nashville from June 16 to June 20.
The Larry Owens Kids Basketball Camp is set to be held from June 22 to 25 in The Inferno.

Three Elbert County golfers make All-State teams

The accolades for Elbert County golf just keep on rolling in.Three Elbert County golfers were named to the 2026 GHSA All-State team: senior Madden Drake and junior Nolan Henderson for the boys’ team and junior Lucy Johnson on the girls’ team.

Author Starnes to visit Elbert County Public Library this weekend

Author Joe Samuel Starnes will visit the Elbert County Public Library this Saturday at 11 a.m. to discuss his novel “Fall Line”, which is being reissued on paperback after being originally released in 2011.
