The Elbert County Blue Devils golf team won their third area championship in a row at the Area 3 Championship match held at Arrowhead Pointe April 28.  Meanwhile the Lady Devils also competed in the Area 3 Championship and finished as area runners-up.
The Elbert County Diamond Devils fell in a three-game series to ACE Charter April 25 and 26. The loss marks the end of the season for the Devils after they finished with a 22-12 record and advanced to the first-round of the GHSA State Playoffs. (File photo by Wells)

Elbert County’s Diamond Devils won the first game of a three-game series against ACE Charter in the first-round of the GHSA State Playoffs, but fell in back-to-back games to bring their season to an end.

Diamond Devils to host ACE in first round

The Elbert County Diamond Devils are playoff bound yet again as they are scheduled to host ACE Charter of Macon in the first-round of the GHSA State Playoffs April 25.  The Devils earned the No. 16 seed in the tournament and will face No. 17 ACE.

Elbert earns series win over Banks

Elbert County’s Diamond Devils picked up a huge series win over first-place Banks County last week, moving the Devils to 12-6 in region play.  Banks came into the matchup undefeated in region play and riding a 15-game winning streak that started March 4 with a win over Commerce.

Elbert County’s Blue Devils and Lady Devils golf teams are hoping to defend their 2024 Border War trophy as they are scheduled to face off with Hart County and Franklin County in the second annual Border War.
