Every boy should be so lucky as to have an Uncle Billy

By Dink Nesmith   This Thanksgiving story began 70 years ago. Every boy should be so lucky. When I was 6 years old, he was more than my uncle. He was my hero. Uncles are men who can span any generation to become a boy’s best friend, too. Our bond began as soon as I could walk and talk.

Support Small Business Saturday

By Douglas Huff   In the song, “God Bless the USA,” Lee Greenwood sings, “I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free, and I won’t forget the men who died to give that right to me.”  I believe this to be one of the greatest songs of all time.

Farm-City Week highlights the rural and city partnership

By Haley Oakley   Farmers and city residents have a symbiotic relationship. People need food, clothing and shelter. Farmers grow our food, cotton and wool for our clothes, and timber for our homes.

The Wesley Voter Guide
