With almost two million books in print in 15 different languages, Karen White is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of 29 novels, including the popular Charleston-set Tradd Street series and she’s coming to the Elbert County Public Library on Friday, Nov. 12 at 3:30 p.m. to speak and autograph copies of her latest Tradd Street mystery.

Thirteen years after the publication of The House on Tradd Street, Karen White’s beloved series comes to a thrilling end with the seventh and final installment, “The Attic on Queen Street” (Berkley Hardcover, November 2021).

Elbert County Public Library’s Jan Burroughs is excited to host the author.

“This mystery sounds amazing,” said Burroughs. “Library staff and her many local readers can’t wait to get our hands on it! We are so lucky to have drawn an author of this caliber to our county. Of Ms. White’s many books, 12 of them have made the Bestsellers list!”

In addition to her Tradd Street mystery series  White has written many ‘stand-alone’ novels, some of which will be available for sale at the book signing along with “The Attic on Queen Street.”

The special event is sponsored by the Friends of the Elbert County Public Library and the purchase of Ms. White’s books at the signing will help raise money for the local Friends of the Library group.

The funds will then be used by the Friends of the Library to help sponsor various services and events at the library.

“The Friends of the Library help pay for our subscription to e-books through OverDrive and the Georgia Download Destination and they sponsor many of our Summer Reading Programs each year for the children,” said Burroughs.

People who would like to attend the book signing and discussion are encouraged to call the Elbert County Public Library at 706-283-5375 to reserve a seat and a book to purchase.

“We want to make sure we have plenty of books on hand for those who want to purchase for themselves and for the book lover on their Christmas gift list.” says Burroughs.

Burroughs urges anyone who wishes to attend to please call the library 706-283-5375 if you will be attending.

“Of course, walk-ins are always welcome as long as we don’t over crowd the room,” she explained. “We’re still in the midst of the pandemic and face masks although not required are encouraged.”

The publisher, Penguin Random House, describes the new book this way: “In The Attic on Queen Street, psychic medium Melanie Trenholm must join forces with her estranged husband and the ghost of a Civil War era girl to protect her beloved Tradd Street home, which is under threat by two malevolent beings –one a ghost, the other her husband’s real-life nemesis.”
