A pair of Veteran’s Day events will be observed throughout Elbert County Friday, Nov. 11.
From 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., the Elbert County Comprehensive High School JROTC program will host their annual Veteran’s Day ceremony in the high school gym.
Those planning to attend should arrive at 8:15 a.m. All veterans, family and friends are invited to attend. Former Army Ranger Bart Smith will be the guest speaker.
Following the high school’s program, the City of Bowman will unveil their new Veteran’s Memorial Walkway in front of the Korean War monument on the Bowman Square in a ceremony at 1 p.m.
Ricky Sykes, commander of the Hart County Veterans of Foreign Wars will be the featured speaker.
Light refreshments will be served at the Bowman Community Center after the ceremony.
