The Development Authority of Elbert County, City of Elberton and Bowman met in a called meeting Tuesday with Tim Chason from The Chason Group to discuss the next steps in the process of hiring a President and CEO.

The Chason Group has received resumes from potential candidates and was scheduled to present at least five of them to the authority in executive session.

Before moving into executive session, Chason said that the group felt “very confident in the candidates” they were presenting.

“What we’re trying to do now is make sure the candidates fit your position description, those key skill sets that you were looking for,” Chason told the authority.

According to Chason, the group has received “more than five resumes,” but did not release the total number received.

“We’re just presenting five candidates,” Chason said. “There’s still some other candidates out there that are possibilities at this time...these are just the first set of candidates that we would bring to the table.”

The authority was not scheduled to take any action on the candidates presented.

After all candidates have been presented to the authority, rounds of interviews will be conducted before publicly announcing the final candidates, according to the phase one report of the process, provided by The Chason Group at the last meeting in August. The authority will then vote to select the new president and CEO.

The proposed start date for the position is scheduled for November.
