Elbert County Comprehensive High School’s Administration will be hosting a “meet and greet” with new head football coach Thursday in the school’s multi-purpose building from 6 until 7 p.m.
“We look forward to this evening with the community, and we certainly hope you are able to be in attendance as we kick off this new era in Blue Devil Football,” ECCHS Principal Jason Kouns wrote in a memorandum to “ECCHS Stakeholders” last week.
Kouns said Waggoner comes to ECCHS “with an extensive background in both playing and coaching experience.”
Waggoner played high school football at Landmark Christian High School in Fairburn and was awarded scholarships and playing time at both Georgia Tech and Liberty University.
Kouns said Waggoner has had high school head coaching stints in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee and has been a part of college programs at the University of Alabama, Georgia Tech, Virginia Military Institute and The University of West Alabama.
Kouns said the introductory meeting is open to the public and that it is “an attempt to get additional information out ... about Coach Waggoner and his vision for our football program moving forward.”
