Joel B. Gunnells, 80, of Athens died Nov. 10. Funeral services were held at Milledge Avenue Baptist Church in Athens and burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery in Bowman. Strickland Funeral Home, Hartwell

Margaret Stovall Thompson, 87, died Nov. 14. Funeral services will be held Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. at Thomas Poteet & Son in Augusta and burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Nov. 18 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
