KECB plans two recycling events
Keep Elbert County Beautiful (KECB) is planning two different recycling events in the next two weeks.
The first event will be a tire amnesty event that will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7 through Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Elbert County Road Department.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. each day.
The Elbert County Road Department is located behind the Elbert County Health Department on Jones Street.
KECB is funded for this event by a State of Georgia grant.
Elbert County residents will be allowed to bring up to five tires daily for recycling at no charge.
No retail of wholesale vendors will be allowed, and tires must be secured to the vehicle will being transported to the location.
No solid rubber tires will be allowed and tractor tires can’t exceed a height of five feet.
The tires must be clean of mud and dirt and residents will be responsible for unloading the tires. Workers at the event will check licenses and vehicle tag numbers and the event is for Elbert County residents only.

KECB will celebrate America Recycles Day next Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Elberton Recycling Center located at 209 MLK Drive.
The recycling event will begin at 8 a.m. and end at noon.
No paint, chemicals or construction materials will be accepted at this recycling event.
