Early voting in runoff has begun
Early voting for the Republican and Democratic Primary run-offs will begin July 2 and will last until July 20.
Voting will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Elbert County Registrars Office Monday through Friday with no voting on Saturday.
The office will close in observation of the Independence Day on Wednesday, July 4.
Election day for the primary run-off is Tuesday, July 24 with the polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at local precincts.
On the Republican ballot are races for governor, lieutenant governor and secretary of state.
On the Democratic ballot is a race for state school superintendent which includes Elbert County native Otha Thornton.

According to Elbert County Registrar Charlotte Ward, voters must cast their ballot for the same party that they voted for in the primary election.
For those who did not vote in the primary, they may choose to cast either a Republican or Democratic ballot.
The Elbert County Registrars office is located at 45 Forest Avenue.
Voters will need a photo ID to vote during early voting.
Elbert County voters can go to the “My Voter Page” at mvp.sos.ga.gov to get information on voting in the primary runoff.
