The 22nd Annual Cruise-In & Classic Car Show will be held Saturday, July 20 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will feature The Granite Bowl Blast Fireworks Show after the car show ends around nightfall.
According to Main Street Manager Crystal Beebe, she expects the fireworks to begin some time between 9:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Registration for the event is $20 and will include a t-shirt. Registration will begin at 4 p.m. the day of, or partcipants can contact Crystal at Main Street before the event to registration and ensure their t-shirt size will be availabe.
Granite plaque awards will be given out in five categories including Owner's Choice Motorcycle, Owner's Choice Car, Owner's Choice Truck, Owner's Choice Rat Rod and Best in Show.
"I encourage everyone to talk to the owners and get their stories," said Crystal. "That's when it gets interesting ... so come on down and see the cars."
Cruisin' to the Oldies with Tommy Landrum will be performing during the car show.
Crystal also mentioned there will be snack vendors available on the one-way street at North McIntosh, in addition to specials by the restuarants on North McIntosh and local merchants on the square.
A Kids Corner with jumpies and bounce houses will be located on South McIntosh Street.
"There's something for all ages. It's a great time to spend time with family and friends and enjoy the fireworks," Crystal said.
The Cruise-In & Classic Car Show featuring The Granite Bowl Blast Fireworks Show is a collaborative event held by Main Street, the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and the Elbert County Chamber of Commerce with help from sponsors M & M Tire and Auto, Granite City Arts, Turner Motor Company, the City of Elberton, the Board of Commissioners, Imex International and Pinnacle Bank.
